Compassionate End-of-Life care for your beloved pet, in the comfort of your home

Dr. Dunaway understands that saying goodbye to a beloved pet is a deeply emotional experience. She has been caring for pets as a veterinarian for over 40 years and has seen the need and desire for people to keep their pets at home for their final moments. Her desire is to bring this service to the Grand Lake area of northeast Oklahoma where she will provide a dignified transition, minimizing stress and anxiety for the pet and their family.

Dr. Kathy Dunaway grew up on a farm north of Jay and continues to call that area home. She is a 1985 graduate of Oklahoma State College of Veterinary Medicine and initially practiced in Santa Maria, California before moving home to Oklahoma. She recently sold Grove Small Animal Hospital, Inc. and continues to work there part-time.

Dr. Dunaway serves through Christian Veterinary Mission and has traveled to Mongolia, Rwanda, Kenya, and Uganda on multiple short term mission trips. She is currently Chair of the CVM Board of Trustees.

She has been married to Ron for over 40 years and is delighted to be mom to Brian (Becky), Amy (Clay) and Daniel (Ana). She is even more delighted to be GiGi to Calvin, Ripley, Miles, Camryn and Scout.

These other roles in her life do take time, so Sage Hands Veterinary Services, PLLC will be a part-time service. She will also be serving CVM internationally at times and will be unavailable.
